hello my friends!!!!!!!!!!

THE BEST TEACHER YOU'VE EVER HAD FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIVES.

hello my dear students!!

Bah Humbug Day

December 21st is a day designated to take a break from all the hustle and bustle of the holidays and become Scrooge for just one day.  Today you are allowed to take out your frustrations and vent just a little and shout "Bah Humbug".  Warning...only 12 "Bah Humbug's" allowed per person!

"Deck The Halls"
Deck the halls with boughs of holly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Tis the season to be jolly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Don we now our gay apparel,

Fa la la, la la la, la la la.
Troll the ancient Yule tide carol,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

See the blazing Yule before us,

Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Strike the harp and join the chorus.
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Follow me in merry measure,

Fa la la la la, la la la la.
While I tell of Yule tide treasure,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Fast away the old year passes,

Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Hail the new, ye lads and lasses,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Sing we joyous, all together,

Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Heedless of the wind and weather,

WINTER SOLSTICE (22 DECEMBER)
"Solstice" comes from the Latin words SOL (sun) and SISTERE (to stand); so WINTER SOLSTICE means "SUN STANDING STILL IN THE WINTER". When the northern hemisphere of the Earth is tilted away from the Sun, it receives less sunlight as the Sun gets the lowest point in the sky. for this reason, there are shorter days and longer nights. Around 22 December, the Winter Solstice marks the shortest day of the year and the beginning of the winter season.

CHRISTMAS DAY (BANK HOLIDAY / PUBLIC HOLIDAY) (25 DECEMBER)
On this day Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus. It is one of the most exciting days of the year for children, because families get together and exchange gifts under the Christmas tree. JOSELYN.
ALEJANDRO

HANUKKAH (21 DECEMBER - 29 DECEMBER)
This holiday comes from the time when Judah reclaimed a temple from Syrian King Antiochus IV. When Judah and his followers were preparing the temple for rededication and they were going to relight the candelebra (Menorah), they realised that there was enough oil to burn for only one day. Miraculously, that little oil lasted eight days until they found more oil. To commemorate HANUKKAH (rededication), Jewish families light a candle each of the eight days, they prepare special food fried in deep oil that represents the oil that lasted for so many days and children receive gifts each night. BOXING DAY (BANK HOLIDAY) (26 DECEMBER)
The day after Christmas is a public holiday in the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zeland and Australia. Traditionally, this day was devoted to help the poor by giving them some gifts inside a container made of wood or clay, called the "CHRISTMAS BOX". Nowadays, the tradition continoues as employers give a Christmas bonus to all employees. LUIS. ALEJANDRO

NEW YEAR'S EVE (31 DECEMBER)
At midnight, everybody celebrates the end of one year and the beginning of the next. There are different ways of receiving the New Year around the world. In London, for instance, there is a firework display over the Thames just after the Big Ben chimes are heard twelve times. SILVIA
CARLOS

WORLD  AIDS DAY (1 DECEMBER)
The purpose of this special day is to create global consciousness about HIV and to provide support to people infected with HIV/AIDS. This year, the slogan says "Stops AIDS. Keep the promise." SEBASTIAN.
CARLOS

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF DISABLED PERSONS (3 DECEMBER)
This year's theme is "Convention on the Rights of Personswith Disabilities: Dignity and justice for all of us". It is a time to make a commitment to these principles and to ensure the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. SEBASTIAN.

INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS DAY (10 DECEMBER)
On ths date in 1948, the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in response to the horrors of World War II. All human beings are entitled to basic rights and freedoms, the right to life and liberty, freedom of expression and equality before the law, the right to participate in culture, the right to get food, the right to work and the right to receive education.
